1) This week’s Pizza Slice
Hello there! :)
I know I didn’t turn up for the last two weeks, and I’m really sorry about that. I’ve decided I won’t be sending newsletters just for the sake of it — like I said last time, doing something properly is way better than posting randomly.
If you’ve read my previous letter, you probably know how much I hated the annual day. Evelin and I ended up watching Minnale — a movie that’s supposedly a favourite for many. To be honest, we found it pretty cringy, ended up fast-forwarding through parts of it, and just tried to finish the whole thing. I’m really sorry if you love that film, but it was just too cheesy and unrealistic for us 😅. Another movie I watched was Good Bad Ugly. Honestly speaking, I didn’t find the movie interesting as it was just references of Ajith’s old movies. But yes, anyways, I guess it’s a whole other topic and let’s not get into that.
Oh, and a huge shout-out to Adi Anna for receiving the ‘Best Outgoing Student’ award for his department!!! Congrats, Anna — it’s absolutely well deserved!! 🤍
Another interesting thing that happened that day was the mail Pranoav sent to the officials and students. He questioned the system on how no-due certificates are linked to academics. If you’ve seen that mail, you’ll know what I mean — it was so well-written and to the point that the authorities didn’t even respond. Hats off to him!
Alright, enough college drama — let’s talk about this week’s pizza slice: Guilt.
Sometimes, we act purely on emotion — in the heat of the moment. You don’t fully realise what you’re doing and often end up regretting it. When you’re upset, angry, sad, confused, stressed, or even too happy, you might do or say things without thinking them through and without realising how much they might hurt someone else.
Then, when you finally come back to your calm state, that wave of guilt hits — and it hits hard. Even if you cry your heart out, it might not feel like enough. The person you hurt might forgive you, but somehow, it doesn’t make you feel any lighter. In fact, sometimes, it feels worse. You might think you were unbelievably stupid for doing or saying that one thing.
It could be anything — a fight, a promise, a conversation, or even just one sentence. Some words slip out, and they stick. If you’re lucky, it might lead to a deeper understanding between you and the other person. But often, it just leads to guilt. So here’s something I’ve learned: Don’t act in haste. Be patient.
Like my dad always says, “பொறுத்தார் பூமி ஆள்வார்”, which means “Those who are patient will rule the world.” In other words, if you can hold back when you’re overwhelmed with emotion — and wait until you’re calm — you could save yourself from hurting someone or being misunderstood. And trust me, that moment of pause can save you from a whole lot of guilt.
But also, if you’ve already done something you regret, please know this: It’s okay. You’re human. We all mess up. Share it with someone, cry it out, or if possible, talk to the person directly. Apologise. It might not erase the guilt instantly, but it’s a step forward. And with time, it will heal. I personally go on a full junk meal, mainly chocolates and of course chocolate milkshake. It somehow magically lifts my mood!
So maybe take this as your sign — if there’s someone you owe an apology to, reach out. Apologising doesn’t make you small — it makes you stronger. And honestly, forgiveness? That’s even more powerful.
Take care, and have a great day and week ahead! See you guys next week :) 🥰
2) The weekly Sketches
I also did a small logo redesign (under 20 minutes!)
(The first one is the existing logo, and the second one is mine.)
3) Quote of the week
“Cry a River. Build a Bridge. Get over it.”
That’s it for this week, guys:)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my newsletter!!! It means the world to me:) It would be amazing if you could share my newsletter with someone whom you think might find it useful! See you guys next week!
Take Care and always remember, “Everything Happens For A Reason” :)
